Hi, I'm Kelly, owner of Ziggy's Feathered Friends.

More than 11 years ago, I found myself at a crossroads. After my long-term employment came to an end, I had to decide what came next. I knew one thing for certain—I wanted to build something of my own. After taking a small business course, a simple idea began to grow: create a place dedicated entirely to pet birds and the people who love them.

For years, we considered ourselves "cat people," but I had always been drawn to birds. One little parrot quickly became several, and with them came an endless desire to learn. We searched for toys, researched nutrition, explored enrichment, and discovered that every source seemed to offer different advice. We wanted to know what was truly best for these incredible companions.

At the time, there were very few local resources for bird owners, so we travelled, attended educational events, connected with breeders, veterinarians, and experienced bird keepers, and never stopped asking questions. That commitment to learning became the foundation of Ziggy's Feathered Friends.

Running a specialty bird store wasn't something a business course could teach. It came from years of hands-on experience, countless lessons, and a genuine passion for helping companion birds live healthier, happier lives. Every challenge helped shape who we became and reinforced our commitment to education, quality products, and compassionate care.

For over 11 years, it has been our privilege to help bird owners choose nutritious diets, enriching toys, quality cages, and trusted supplies while sharing the knowledge we've gained along the way. Whether you were welcoming your first budgie or caring for a flock of lifelong companions, we have always believed that every bird deserves the very best care.

It is with great sadness that we share that Ziggy's Feathered Friends is beginning the process of closing. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to wind down the business. While this decision was not one we ever wanted to make, the health and well-being of Kelly and her family must come first.

As we move through this transition, we remain committed to caring for the birds in our care and continuing to provide our customers with access to the products they have come to rely on for as long as possible. We will gradually be liquidating our inventory, and when sales begin, they will be announced on our website and social media channels.

During this time, the store will operate by appointment and limited hours. We encourage customers to place online orders whenever possible, with pickup or delivery arrangements made through the order notes or by contacting us directly.

To every customer, breeder, veterinarian, rescue, and fellow bird enthusiast who has supported us over the past 11 years—thank you. Your encouragement, friendships, and trust have meant more than we can express. Ziggy's Feathered Friends has always been about more than selling bird supplies; it has been about building a community of people who love and care deeply for their feathered companions.
